Gregg just completed an illustration for a pro bono client of ours. The timing was very tight, and the budget was practically non existent. Gregg was enthusiastic, fast and flexible. The final piece was beautiful, and the client was very happy. I do have one warning about him—his color palettes are amazing. So amazing, in fact, that my black and white idea was almost turned into a color job because the client couldn't resist!

Gregg is an exceptionally talented artist who has the ability take your idea and turn it into a beautiful reality, while working within your parameters. Although he works on computer, he starts his ideas with hand sketches. As a result, his finished work has a warmth to it from the hand drawn base art, combined with the detail that results from his technique of "slicing" his work in the computer to achieve his unique look.

Gregg has one of the most natural drawing abilities I’ve ever seen. The electronic style that he has spent years perfecting has ironically adapted very well to a painted medium, from canvases to sides of building to architectural accents. Gregg’s environmental art is crisp, full of life and impactful. Gregg has been able to take his natural born abilities to an incredibly high level and continue to adapt it to changing mediums.

Gregg's versatility and vibrant images make him one of the best illustrators in the industry. His ability to embellish reality with his imaginative and boundless style always keep you wanting to see more. I strongly recommend Gregg for any assignment.

Gregg's ability to understand and surpass client business needs and expectations is at least as important as his astounding ability as an illustrator. His knowledge of the necessities and subtleties of file types, compatibility, and resolution as it relates to a variety of print processes, the intended uses of the final product, and the consumer perception is tremendous.

I have known Gregg since college and the city of Pittsburgh has relied on his creativeness in our downtown mural project, our annual Great Race and throughout the community in so many corporate and non-profit illustrations. His talent is matched by his integrity!

Gregg Valley has been creating bold, unique, and colorfully vibrant works of art ever since his graduation from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, PA. with a bachelors degree in fine arts/illustration.
While the final artwork is created using a computer, his visual technique—what he calls “faceting”—was developed long before special filters or apps were available, and is all drawn by hand. Achieved by first determining the key shapes within his composition and thoughtfully dividing them up into many smaller shapes—the technique allows for much more control and manipulation of the image and color palette.
Gregg has leveraged and expanded on this style to create monumental works of public art. His varied indoor and outdoor murals have been hand-painted all around the country—some of the largest extending to 60 feet tall and 230 feet long!
